Research Question

Under a defined transactional workload and controlled conditions, how do Java, Python, and Rust differ in the expression, verification, and operational behavior of a bounded business API implementing validation, persistence, authorization, auditability, error handling, and recovery?

Scope

This application family covers a single bounded context: a transactional business API. It is intentionally limited to isolate language-level differences from architectural or infrastructure variation.

Out of scope: distributed system behavior, multi-tenant concerns, front-end rendering, and infrastructure provisioning.

Behavioral Contract

Example structure — not an actual research result.

The behavioral contract defines the required inputs, outputs, state transitions, and error conditions that all implementations must satisfy. It is the basis for the shared verification suite.

Specification: Draft. Full behavioral contract not yet published.

Nonfunctional Envelope

Example structure — not an actual research result.

Nonfunctional requirements (throughput targets, latency bounds, memory constraints, recovery time objectives) will be specified before implementation begins. Not yet published.

Reference Dataset

Reference datasets will be published with the behavioral contract. Not yet available.

Edge Cases

Edge case registry will be published with the behavioral contract. Not yet available.

Implementations

LanguageStatusNotes
JavaPlannedImplementation not yet started.
PythonPlannedImplementation not yet started.
RustPlannedImplementation not yet started.

Verification Status

Verification not started.

The common verification suite will be executed after all implementations reach a buildable state.

Experiment Environment

Experiment environment specification (hardware, OS, runtime versions, container configuration, network topology) will be published before measurement begins. Not yet available.

Measurements

No measurements published.

Measurements will appear only after equivalence verification and environment normalization are complete.

Planned capability — not yet available.

Findings

No findings published.

Findings will be published after measurements are complete, reviewed, and interpreted with declared limitations.

Not yet published.

Limitations

Limitations will be documented as the study progresses. Not yet published.

Reproduction

Reproduction package not yet available.

A reproduction package containing all source code, verification suites, datasets, and environment specifications will be published alongside findings.

Planned capability.
